Landed in the Bitter Oleander

“She Who Takes the Bones”, a short story of mine, landed in the Autumn 2019 issue of the Bitter Oleander.

In between rides, she walked the roadsides, the drainage ditches by fast food restaurants, the stretch of grass on the southside of the library. Her eyes scanning. Her steps regular, almost bobbing, hands in pockets. The sound of cars driving past. Black birds flying in undulating patterns overhead. Spring fully arrived to that place on earth.
